A small leather enveloppe. Similar finds are know from all over the empire. On the originals the top edge is rudely cut open, so maybe this side was originally closed and the envelope cut open on that side. To re-use the enveloppe it was closed again and a circular piece was added covering one end of the cut. Maybe the hole in this piece can be seen as way to ‘seal’ the enveloppe.
